The History of RFiD

Decade                      Event

1940 - 1950              Radar refined and used, major World War II                                               development effort. RFID invented in 1948.

1950 - 1960              Early explorations of RFID technology, laboratory                                      experiments.

1960 - 1970              Development of the theory of RFID.

Start of preliminary application field trials.

1970 - 1980              Initiation of RFID development.

                                  Tests of RFID accelerate.

Very early adopter implementations of RFID.

1980 - 1990              Commercial applications of RFID evolves.

1990 - 2000              Emergence of standards.

1998 - 2000              RFID deployment but only affordable to mainstream                                    wealthy companies.

2000 – 2004              RFID development slows drastically due to cost and                                   later world events.

2004 – 2006              Class 0, 0+ and 1 low frequency, high frequency and                                   active tag RFID developed and deployed at high cost                                   for hardware and materials.

2006 – 2007              Generation 2 Ultra High Frequency Passive tag                                         readers and antennae evolves and is standardized to                                   reduce costs, improve effectiveness and efficiency.

2008 -                        Continued development and evolution, many RFiD                                   pilots in place, reduced cost of implementation.

About Us

Being a dream in 1988 and becoming reality in 1990 our company was opened under the moniker Suntech Systems Group out of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Since then we are proud to acknowledge the fact that we have never lost a client, nor failed to fulfill their expectations to complete satisfaction. Working with original concepts and ideas from the client and taking them to new levels of very cost effective, bulletproof, and not to forget user friendly solutions.

From preliminary studies through design, development, implementation and finally top down user training and documentation, including verbal, written and in the early 90’s the introduction of CDROM refreshment methods. All of our software solutions are backed by guarantees of performance and consultation when required 24/7/365.
